Autogleam provide a high standard of basic car valeting. The Mercedes-Benz captured in our video is a great example of a standard car valeting service. Our standard of basic car valeting is not a comparison to many of our competitor’s offerings of a ‘basic’ service. This being as we have high standards which we deem as an acceptable level to put our name too and no lower.

This Mercedes Benz valet was completed on a mobile based service in Turvey on the outskirts of Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire border. A thorough car wash ensued, cleaning all wheel arches, door shuts, sills and indeed the whole car. The paintwork is treated to a siloxane sio2 sealant to increase gloss levels, creating hydrophobic sheeting protection.

The interior was vacuumed, all plastics, carpets, instrument panels and storage areas within the car were cleaned and freshened.  The windows are cleaned inside and out, air freshened and finally the tyres are dressed.

VW Golf Paint Correction & Detail

The black Volkswagen Golf GTi in the video is a great example of a detailing a car a correcting the paintwork from swirling / cobwebs and scratches. Swirling and cobwebs tend to occur from poor washing techniques. Rather than explaining what poor washings techniques are, the explanation of the process Autogleam Bedford use when wash valeting or detailing your car should explain this. A pre spray of all heavily soiled or contaminated areas are treated with a non-caustic specialistic chemical, the vehicle is sprayed with snow foam and left to dwell and loosen dirt. Your car is then jet washed to remove the majority debris and soiling. This will then minimise any eventuality of dirt and grit contact proceeding from mitt washing. On the paintwork a two bucket wash ensues. This is a rinse bucket filled with clear fresh water and a second bucket filled with super slick wash soap or a high active wash and wax. A super soft premium wash mitt is used to remove the remaining road grime, cleansing from the top of the car to the bottom regularly rinsing the mitt. Once all wash soap has been rinsed free, the car is then dried using a premium drying towel.

The revitalisation of this 18 year Volkswagen Golf also included an engine bay detail. All debris, dirt and oil washed clear, followed by all plastic dressed and painted areas are waxed with a spray wax leaving surfaces protected with rich lustre and very shiny.

Our GTi was then treated to mechanical sanding and localised hand sanding with heavy scratching. A Rupes dual action sander was used loaded with 3M Trizact 3000 grit pad to finely remove the damaged clear coat. Using this technique saves time in the form of heavy aggressive cutting processes. This also leaves a less aggressive form of polishing meaning surfaces require less refining time to obtain the desired results.

Once all rectification work is completed the whole car is blown down with an airline to remove any product dust and panels are wiped down with a panel wipe to eradicate any possible waxes oils that could potentially hiding unrectified areas and also prepares the paint to hold a top protective layer. Without wiping a panel down any subsequent layer of protection will not bond to a surface and perform to its maximum ability. Our golf within the video was treated to a layer of Nanolex Si3d base coat to deliver optimum hardness to help repel subsequent wash marring or daily riggers of every day driving. Once the base coat is cured a top layer ceramic coating is added to further increase the hardness, gloss and hydrophobic performance.

Vehicle enhancement is an affordable option but still delivers a mighty big turnaround on vehicles paintwork. The dark blue bonnet of a porchse 911 show a 50/50 of a bonnet that has been machine polished eradicating the vast majority of clear coated swirling. This service can be completed within a day with the application of a sealant or wax protection meaning the necessity of overnight curing is not necessary.

Protection services are options to increase performance of durability or repellency of dirt or water to assist in self washing and ease of recleaning. These come in several forms for individual surfaces for both interior and exterior. Wheels, paintwork, plastics, headlights, glass are all surfaces that can benefit from added protection. The results can be ease of recleaning, enhanced finishes, prolonging the life of surfaces and ‘new looks’ and enhanced vision in wet conditions.

Interior surfaces can also be treated to combat and repel every day use and spillages.
