What Is TFR?
Traffic Film Remover is designed to break down the oily, electrostatic grime that builds up on vehicles—especially on lower panels, bumpers, and rear ends. It is primarily a pre‑wash product, reducing the amount of contact needed later.
Caustic TFR
Caustic TFRs typically contain sodium or potassium hydroxide and are best suited for heavy dirt, oil, undercarriages, wheel arches as well as commercial vehicles and fleet vans. The caustic power delivers fast acting cleaning power.
Non‑Caustic TFR
Non‑caustic TFRs use solvents, surfactants, and citrus-based cleaners which a friendly for more delicate surfaces and won’t attack protective finishes as a caustic product might..
Why Non‑Phosphate alloy wheel cleaner?
Older wheel acids relied heavily on phosphates, which are environmentally harmful and increasingly restricted. Modern non‑phosphate acids clean effectively while being safer for both the environment and the user.
Wheel acids dissolve embedded brake dust and break down metal contamination but is very aggressive. Use with care and understanding.
What Is a Clay Cloth?
A clay cloth (or clay towel) is used to remove bonded contaminants like tar, sap, and industrial fallout leaving surfaces cleansed of barriers that can restrict protective products or be adverse within the polishing process.
Painting Brake Calipers & Drums
Painting calipers is both cosmetic and protective. All the metal areas on the fiesta were prepped with either a wire brush or sanding paper. Once cleaned with appropriate process the areas were brushed painted with a high temperature paint following masking up
Paint Rectification and Refinement
Paint rectification is the process of removing defects such as scratches, sanding marks, oxidation, and heavy swirl marks to restore clarity and gloss. In the case of our Fiesta S black edition I employed Trizact 3000 and 6000 mounted on a RUPES LR71TE Trizact discs are engineered abrasives designed to refine paint safely before machine polishing.
Fully twisted wool pads on a rotary polisher are ideal for the polishing stage.
Why Do I Fully Twisted Wool?
Using wool delivers me both high cutting ability and controls the heat level lending a lower risk levels to paintwork.
Refining: Medium Foam on Dual Action (DA)
Once heavy defects are removed, refinement is essential enhances clarity and eliminate rotary haze.
Medium foam pads on a DA polisher provide controlled correction with minimal risk.
Thus, removing light haze and micro‑marring and Improving gloss and depth of colour.I didn’t carry much jewelling due to both time restraints and I’d achieved the finished I desired.
A nice tip for show presentation is to concentrate on the bonnet and front wings of the vehicle. Makes those as good as you can possibly achieve, as that pretty much the only areas that the average person will look at.
THE INTERIOR
The carpets weren’t too bad on our Fiests S but the seats were wet vac extracted with numatic George vacuum cleaner, plastics cleaned with malco leather and plastic cleaner with kochchemie polstar for the seats.
Seat runners/fixings were sanded with indasa 320 on milwaukee pistol and mirka 1500 paper. (2000 mirka used upon the roof).
Primed with UPOL grey primer and UPOL satin black aerosol.
